Elena Cecconi si è diplomata con il massimo dei voti sotto la guida di A. Pucello presso il Conservatorio “L. Refice” di Frosinone; ha seguito i corsi al Mozarteum di Salisburgo tenuti da K. H. Zoeller e si è perfezionata con W. Schulz presso la Hochschule für Musik di Vienna, dove ha seguito anche i corsi di Musica Barocca tenuti da E. Melkus.

Il suo repertorio come solista spazia da Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart, Mercadante a Reinecke, Ibert, Nielsen, Jolivet, Mortari, Corghi etc. In tale ruolo ha collaborato con Maestri quali G. Ferro, (sotto la cui direzione ha eseguito il Concerto di J. Ibert), H. Soudant, M. Boder, U. B. Michelangeli ed altri; e con Orchestre quali Teatro Bellini di Catania, Sinphonia Perugina, Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, Orchestre Radio Televisione e Opera Albanese, Budapest Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra Toscanini di Parma, Camerata di Cremona, Solisti di Cremona,Orchestra Scarlatti di Napoli,Orchestra Classica di Alessandria, UCS University Orchestra, esibendosi in molte città italiane ed all'estero come in Germania, Austria, Polonia, Albania, Svizzera, Spagna, Portogallo, Francia, Grecia, Romania,Turchia, Brasile, Argentina,Costa Rica, Giappone, Thailandia; USA: Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, California; Russia, dove ha suonato a Mosca, nella Sala Ciaikowskij, il Concerto in Mi min di Mercadante. Si è esibita inoltre in prestigiose Sale quali Teatro Olimpico a Roma, Auditorium di Cagliari e Palermo, Teatro Bellini di Catania, Regio di Parma, Teatri di Jesi e Panicale, Teatro Olimpico e Sala Concerti del Conservatorio a Vicenza, Mantova, Genova, presso i prestigiosi Festivals Internazionali di Gressoney, Cappadocia, Santander ; Sala Florianka a Cracovia ed altre sale e Festivals italiani ed europei; Concert Hall della Loyola, Lafayette, Tulane, Hammond, Dekalb Universities, Westwego Theater in New Orleans,Teatro Nacional de San Jose'-Costa Rica, Goethe Institute in Bangkok e numerose Sale e Teatri in USA, Brasile, Costa Rica, Argentina, Thailandia e Giappone.

La sua attività concertistica è intensa anche nell'ambito della Musica da Camera (flauto e arpa, flauto e pianoforte, quintetto a fiati, etc.) e nel 1996 ha fondato l'Ensemble “La Variazione” con il quale ha effettuato concerti in Italia, Svizzera, Giappone, Stati Uniti, ottenendo successo di pubblico e critica. Con l'arpista Paola Devoti si esibisce in duo, ha inciso per Bottega Discantica ed ha partecipato al Falaut Festival 2009. Recentemente Elena ha fondato il Jazzy mood Trio ampliando così il suo repertorio e la sua esperienza artistica. Inoltre ha fondato il Πολύφλοισβος Polyfloisvos - Trio Flauto and Piano Duo con Paola Biondi e Debora Brunialti.

Fino al 1994 è stata Primo Flauto Solista dell'Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana ed ha poi collaborato e collabora come Primo Flauto e Solista con diverse Orchestre da Camera e Sinfoniche fra cui l'Orchestra del Gran Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, l'Orchestra “A.Toscanini” di Parma, l'Orchestra del Teatro Olimpico di Vicenza, l'Orchestra Filarmonica Italiana, l'Orchestra Classica di Alessandria.

Ha vinto numerosi Concorsi tra i quali Palmi, Caltanissetta, concorsi presso Orchestre Sinfoniche e Liriche e quello Internazionale indetto dall'Orchestra Sinfonica dalla Galiçia (Spagna).

Ha inciso come solista per Edipan (brani di T. Procaccini), Ricordi-Stradivarius (Luoghi Immaginari di F.Vacchi), per la casa discografica tedesca Bayer Records (Fantasie Operistiche fl. e pf.), per l'inglese Clarinet Classics (Concertoni di Mercandante per fl e orch.), per Talent Records (Belgio), Tactus Records, Brilliant Classics ( Olanda), La Bottega Discantica -Italia- (flauto solo, flauto e arpa, flauto e pianoforte), Urania records-Leonardo collection (Kuhlau solo flute). I suoi CDs sono recensiti con il massimo riconoscimento  da importanti riviste del settore quali Musica e Falaut e programmati su emittenti radiofoniche in Europa quali Radio Vaticana, Rai, Filodiffusione, ORF ed altre emittenti, e nel mondo (USA, Corea, Giappone etc....)

È titolare della Cattedra di Flauto presso il Conservatorio-Università-Alta Formazione Artistica e Musicale N. Paganini di Genova.

Inoltre ha tenuto Masterclasses presso Valtidone International Festivals and Summer Camp-Italy, International  Mastercourses ad  Assisi UmbriaEstate, Flute Masterclass presso Musica in Vacanza - Accademia Operarmonica ( Pistoia).

Elena tiene Masterclasses e Flute recitals presso i Conservatori-Accademie musicali di Vicenza e Mantova.

Elena ha tenuto recitals e  Masterclasses in Turchia, Grecia- Conservatorio Kodaly di Atene-  presso la Hochschule für Musik “F. Liszt” a Weimar e Osnabrück - Germania , l’Accademia Musicale di Cracovia - Polonia,  il Conservatorio Superiore di Musica di Alicante, di La Coruña, di Valencia - Spagna, la Escola Superior de Musica ESML di Lisbona, l'Universita di Aveiro - Portogallo.

Elena tiene Recitals e Masterclasses negli USA al Florida State College di Jacksonville (FL), alla Southeastern Louisiana University di Hammond, University of Louisiana a Lafayette e Loyola University e Tulane University di New Orleans (LA), alla Thomas County Central Highschool di Thomasville (GA) e alla Northern Illinois University di Dekalb-Chicago (IL). Inoltre ha tenuto  Masterclass e recital per flauto solo presso la UFRGS University a Porto Alegre e per l'Università di Santa Maria Vale Veneto  in Brasile,  la Maimonides University di Buenos Aires-Argentina, ed in Costa Rica.

Nel gennaio 2007, nel febbraio 2008 e nel gennaio 2010 è stata invitata al Flute Fair- Annual Florida State Convention che si è svolto ad Orlando (FL) e si è esibita in recitals per Flauto Solo ed in un recital di Fantasie Operistiche Virtuose per Flauto e Pianoforte con il pianista Tim Carey.

Elena è stata scelta per esibirsi in un recital di Fantasie Operistiche per flauto e pianoforte alla National Convention degli Stati Uniti (36th Annual NFA Convention), Kansas City (MO) nell'Agosto 2008, dove ha suonato anche il brano per Flauto Solo “Hurricane!” di H. Buss per la Brixton Publications.

Elena ha rappresentato l'Italia all' VIII Festival Internazionale di Flauto di Costa Rica nell'aprile 2013,  dove hatenuto Masterclass ed  suonato le Fantasie Operistiche Verdiane con il pianista Tim Carey. Inoltre nel 2014 ha rappresentato l'Italia al XII Abraf Flute Festival a Belem in Brasile, e a Ginevra in Svizzera a La Côte Flûte Festival  tenendo recitals e Masterclasses. Rappresenterà l'Italia a Mendoza in Argentina al  IX World FluteS Festival nel Settembre 2017

Il compositore della Florida H. Buss ha scritto brani dedicati ad Elena, “Alpine Spring” e " Inner Quest" per flauto e arpa;  "Space Renaissance Suite" e “Venetian Memoirs” per flauto solo - Brixton Publications, quest'ultimo eseguito da Elena in Prima Mondiale al Florida Flute Convention  nel Gennaio 2010. Inoltre hanno scritto brani a lei dedicati i compositori C.Galante, R.Di Marino, P.Devoti, A. Del Re, P. Furlani, N. Harizanos, A. Hagman.

Elena è Dama Magistrale dei Cavalieri di Malta, fa parte dei Donatori di Musica, ed è Direttore Artistico di Space Renaissance Italia ed International.

Elena Cecconi graduated in Italy at Conservatorio of Frosinone with the highest marks under the guidance of A. Pucello. She attended the Mastercourses at the Mozarteum of Salzburg with K. H. She also has performed with the Albanian Radio Television Orchestra, Budapest Chamber Orchestra and UCS University Orchestra-Brazil. Elena has captivated audiences in many places around the world such as Germany, Austria, Albania, Poland, Switzerland, Spain,Portugal, France, Greece, Romania, Turkey, Brasil, Argentina, Costa Rica, Japan, Thailand; USA: Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, California; and Russia, in the famous Ciaikovskij hall of Moscow (Mercadante Concerto). She was First Solo Flute of the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra till 1994 and she played and plays as First Flute and Soloist in the "La Fenice " Orchestra of Venice, the"Toscanini Orchestra " of Parma , in the "Olimpic Theatre Orchestra" of Vicenza, in the Italian Philarmonic Orchestra of Piacenza, and in the Classical Orchestra of Alessandria.

She performs in several chamber groups ( fl .and piano, fl. and harp, fl. and guitar, fl. and harpsichord, wind quintet, etc)   and in 1996 she founded "La Variazione " Ensemble, a group consisting of a flutist, harpist, and a tenor ( recordings and tournée in Italy, Switzerland, Japan, USA). She performs with the harpist Paola Devoti, they recorded for Bottega Discantica and they performed at Falaut Festival 2009. Elena founded the Jazzy mood Trio enlarging the repertoire and the performances. She founded Πολύφλοισβος Polyfloisvos - Trio Flute and Piano Duo With Paola Biondi and Debora Brunialti 

Elena is Professor of Flute at the Conservatorio - Music University of Genova. 

She taught MasterClasses at Valtidone International Festivals and Summer Camp-Italy, International Mastercourses at Assisi UmbriaEstate, Flute  Masterclass at Musica in Vacanza-Accademia Operarmonica in Pistoia.

She teaches Flute Masterclasses and  performs Flute recitals at Conservatorio-Music Academies in Vicenza and Mantova- Italy.

Recently she taught  a Masterclasses and performed  recitals in Turkey, Greece- Kodaly Conservatorio in Athens- and  at F. Liszt Music University in Weimar (Germany), Music Academy in Krakov (Poland),  Conservatorio Superior de Musica in Alicante, La Coruña and Valencia ( Spain), the Escola Superior de Musica ESML of Lisbon, and Aveiro University- Portugal.

On January 2007, February 2008 and January 2010 Elena perfomed  Solo Flute Recitals and a "Virtuoso Operatic Fantasias"- Flute and piano recital with the pianist Tim Carey- at the Flute Fair in the Florida Flute Annual State Convention (Orlando-Florida)    

She has been selected to play an Operatic Fantasias recital  for flute and piano at the 36th Annual NFA Convention- National Flute Convention in Kansas City-Missoury , August 2008. In the same Convention she performed the piece "Hurricane!" for solo flute  of H.Buss-Brixton Publications.

Elena has been invited to represent Italy at the VIII International Flute Festival in Costa Rica in April 2013, where she taught Masterclass and performed Verdi Operatic Fantasias with the pianist Tim Carey. In 2014 Elena performed and taught Masterclasses at XII International Flute Festival-ABRAF in Belem - Brazil and in Genève - Switzerland at La Côte Flûte Festival.

She will represent Italy in Mendoza - Argentina at the IX World  Flutes Festival next September 2017

The Florida composer, H. Buss composed pieces for Elena: "Alpine Spring" and " Inner Quest", for flute and harp,  and  Pieces for solo flute  entitled  “Space Renaissance" and "Venetian Memoirs" - Brixton Publications - this one performed by Elena at the Florida Flute Convention- January 2010 -  World Premiere. The composers C.Galante, R.Di Marino, P.Devoti,  A. Del Re, P.Furlani, H.Buss, A.Hagman, N. Harizanos composed pieces dedicated to Elena.

Principal Events

 

 

 

-From the initial concerts until presently, Elena has  appeared as soloist in concerts for flute and Orchestra, in Chamber Music - Wind Quintet, Flute Quartet, Flute and cembalo, flute and harp- recitals with piano, and with  singers. In addition she has played important Concerts and Musical Events in Italy , Austria, Germany, Albania, Switzerland, Poland, Spain, France, Turkey, Japan, Russia, Brazil and the United States.

 

 Elena's debut as soloist took place  in Roma, at Teatro Greco of Villa Flaminia. She was still a very young student, and  performed the Vivaldi Concert for two flutes, strings and b.c.

 

 

 

- From 1985 until 1994 Elena Cecconi was First Soloist Flute  of the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana (EAOSS-Palermo) winner of the Competition.

 

 She played  with world famous Conductors and Soloists, playing as well as soloist, and with chamber groups.

 

She has played all the important symphonic repertoire as well as much of the contemporary music.

 

-From April 1996 until present time, "La Variazione" Ensemble , founded by Elena and her husband, tenor Filippo Pina Castiglioni, performed in many recitals and appeared in several groups (flute and harp, singers flute and harp, wind ensemble, singers and winds or strings etc...)

 

The Ensemble played for important Theaters, Festivals, Musical Seasons as Val Tidone International, Festival of Ancient Organs, Gressoney Festival etc (see Ensemble curriculum)

 

The debut of the Ensemble took place in Venice at Palazzo Mocenigo, April 1996.

 

Many concerts and recitals were performed in Italy, Switzerland, Japan and USA. They played in Tokyo, June 2000, at an Italian Festival, and in Florida, Louisiana and Illinois - United States, fall 2007 and 2009 and the repertoire included italian virtuoso and operatic pieces, for flute and harp and tenor flute and harp.

 

She performs with the harpist Paola Devoti, they recorded for La Bottega Discantica and they performed at Falaut Festival 2009.

 

 

 

 - The Florida composer, H. At the Salzburg Festival in 1991, she has been invited by the famous pianist and composer, Jörg Demus, to play his composition for 
flute and piano.

She performed in important and famous Concert halls as OlimpicoTheater in  Rome, Bellini Theater of Catania,Jesi and Panicale Theaters, Olimpico Theater and Music Academy Concert Hall in Vicenza, Concert hall in Cagliari and Palermo, Music  International Festivals of Gressoney, Cappadocia, Santander; Florianka Hall in Krakov- Poland and many other Italian and European Music halls and Festivals; Concert halls in Lafayette, Loyola, Dekalb, Hammond, Tulane Universities, Westwego Theater in New Orleans, Teatro Nacional in San Jose' de Costa Rica, Goethe Institute in Bangkok,   and Concert halls in USA, Japan,  Thailand, Costa Rica, Argentina and Brazil.

 

 Elena has recorded as soloist for Edipan (solo flute and flute and piano sonatas of the composer Teresa Procaccini), Ricordi-Stradivarius (Luoghi Immaginari-F.Vacchi), Bayer Records-Germany- (Operatic Fantasias for flute and piano) ,Clarinet Classics -UK- (Concertoni of Mercadante for fl and orch.) Talent Records (Belgium),Tactus Records, Brilliant Classics ( The Netherlands), La Bottega Discantica -Italy- (solo flute, flute and harp, flute and piano),  Urania records-Leonardo collection ( Kuhlau solo flute). Their distribution network is worldwide (Italy and Europe, USA , Japan, Korea etc.)  and are   broadcast in international radio programs and reviewed on musical magazines.

 

 

 

Elena also found herself  judging many musical competitions.

 

 

 

Competitions and Teaching

 

 

 

Elena won several Musical and Orchestras' Competitions.

 

In 1985 she won the Competition at the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, and here she played as First Soloist Flute until 1994.

 

From 2002, she has been Professor of Flute at Conservatorio-Music University-  of Cagliari.  It is of interest that in 1990, she won the Teaching Ministerial Competition to teach at the Musical Universities.   
 

 

She won  many other Competions for 1st Flute: Orchestra Giovanile Italiana, Rai di Napoli, S.Carlo  di Napoli, Teatro dell'Opera di Roma and in 1992  the International Competition of Galicia (Spain) with auditions all over the world.

 

 

 

Elena won the X Flute Competition "F. Cilea" of Palmi in 1986,

 

and the II Chamber Music Competition of Caltanissetta with the Wind Quintet "Collegium Ars Musica"in 1985

 

Elena Cecconi is Artistic Director and chair of the Maimonides University International Flute Competition in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

 

  

 

Elena is currently Professor of Flute at the Conservatorio- Music University-"N. Paganini» di Genova.

 

  

 

She has taught Master Classes in Louisiana (Southeastern University - SLU- Hammond - University of Louisiana UL of Lafayette, Loyola University and Tulane University of New Orleans), Florida ( State College- Jacksonville),Illinois ( Northern Illinois University in DeKalb-Chicago ) Georgia ( Thomas County Central HighSchool), where she  also played  solo flute, flute and  piano and flute and harp recitals. She taught Masterclasses and performed in Brazil at UFRGS University in Porto Alegre,  Maimonides University in Buenos Aires (Argentina) and in Costa Rica.

 

She taught MasterClasses at Valtidone International Festivals, Summer Camp-Italy and International MasterCourses at Assisi UmbriaEstate, Castellina Marittima-Pisa- International Summer Courses,  Accademia Operarmonica- Pistoia. 

 

 She taught Masterclasses and performed recitals in Turkey, Weimar-Germany, Krakov-Poland, Alicante, La Coruña, Valencia- Spain and Lisbon-Portugal- Music Academies.

 

 

 

In July 2009 Elena recorded  the Sonata op.75 for flute and piano of Teresa Procaccini playing with the composer (Edipan).  The Sonata has been composed from the Concertino for flute and strings, played by Elena in Rome as first world performing.

In January 2007, February 2008 and January 2010 Elena performed Solo Flute Recitals and a Flute and Piano recital with the pianist Tim Carey at the Flute Fair in the Florida Flute Annual State Convention (Orlando, Florida)     

 

She has been selected to play an Operatic Fantasias recital  for flute and piano at the 36th Annual NFA Convention- National Flute Convention in Kansas City-Missoury , August 2008. In the same Convention she performed the piece "Hurricane!" for solo flute  of H.Buss-Brixton Publications.

 

Elena represented Italy at the VIII International Flute Festival in San Jose' de Costarica, where she performed Operatic Verdi Fantasias with the pianist Tim Carey. 

Elena performed at La Côte Flûte Festival - Switzerland in 2014

She has been guest Artist in Belem-Brasil at XII ABRAF  International Flute Festival

 

 

 - The Florida composer, H. Buss composed three piece for Elena : "Alpine Spring" and " Inner Quest", for flute and harp (December 2007- December 2009) and a Piece for solo flute  entitled "Venetian Memoirs" ( January 2009) - Brixton Publications - this one performed by Elena as a World Premiere at the Florida Flute Convention- January 2010.

 

The composers C.Galante, R.Di Marino, C.Montero, P. Devoti, A. Del Re, P. Furlani, N. Harizanos, A. Hagman, composed pieces dedicated to Elena.

 

Elena Cecconi is Artistic Director and chair of the Maimonides University International Flute Competition in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

 

 Elena is Magistral Dama of the Knights of Malta, she is a musician of Donatori di Musica and she is Artistic Director of Space Renaissance International.

 

Elena  plays a Haynes golden flute 14 K which belonged to the famous Italian flutist Severino Gazzelloni.
